The following information was for many years believed to be the ancestors of Jedediah Garrison.  The links below are the basis for removing this information as to the ancestors of Jedediah.

"Zero" Generation

Before Lambert Garrison things are real fuzzy.  Lambert's parents might have been Cornelias Garrison and Anna Tullis.  Or Lambert's father might have been Garret Segers.  Since Garret Segers was of Dutch descent, Lambert was the Son of Garret, so using the Dutch custom he became Lambert Garretson.  And the spelling somehow became Garrison.  So until such time as the picture becomes less "fuzzy" we will start the First Generation at Lambert Garrison.

First Generation

LAMBERT GARRISON was born in 1655 and died in 1725. He married SUSANNAH MORGAN in 1684.
Lambert and his wife Susannah Morgan Garrison, lived in Staten Island, N.Y. moving later into New Jersey. There are many derivations of how the Garrison name was spelled at this time.  Some of these were Ge(a)rrettson, .

Children of LAMBERT GARRISON and SUSANNAH MORGAN are:
            i.LAMBERT2 GARRISON, JR., b. 1685; d. 1770.
            ii.CHARLES GARRISON, b. 1688; d. 1750.
            iii.SUSANNAH GARRISON, b. 1690; d. 1719.
            iv.DANIEL GARRISON, b. 1696; d. 1723.
            v.NICHOLAS GARRISON, b. 1701; d. 1781.
            vi.CATHERINE GARRISON, b. 1703; d. 1761.
            vii.ELIZABETH GARRISON, b. 1706; d. 1750.
            viii.ISSAC GARRISON, b. 1699; d. 1783.

Second Generation

****Breaking News*****

Today, July 29.2008, I came across a web site that contains some text that says that proof exists that Christopher Garrison was NOT the father of Jedediah as our previous family history claims.  The site mentions that DNA evidence proves that Christopher Garrison was NOT the father of Jedediah Garrison and Ebenezer Garrason (yes, different spelling), but that Jedediah and Ebenzer were brothers.  The site lists no known father for Jedediah and Ebenezer.

This information can be found at:

The same web site does state that there is DNA proof that Caleb Garrison, Jr was the son of Jedediah Garrison, and gives the story behind why Caleb was referred to as Caleb, Jr.

Editor's note:

Until the shock wears off and I can drop all of the above information from many different sources, I am going to leave it here for others to see and maybe help resolve the new puzzle that this information presents.
